ISS Benefits for Humanity Section Animations

The 2022 edition of the International Space Station Benefits for Humanity publication is packed with numerous benefits of the microgravity laboratory highlighting groundbreaking discoveries helping society, technologies tested for future space exploration, new scientific breakthroughs, and contributions to the growing low-Earth orbit (LEO) economy. I led our team in the production of animations that highlighted the unique contributions of the station for each of the eight sections of the publication. The animations served as trailers for each section, and were published as highlight pieces for each section in the digital edition.

Our animation team leaned on music, rhythm, and unique color palettes, projecting station footage and internally developed animation content onto a 3D model of the station itself. The team developed mood boards for each animation, pairing the use of color with companion musical selections that gave each animation its own unique look and feel while always feeling like a piece of the larger product.
